Leo DiCaprio will be happy to see that one of the biggest cities in the United States is working hard to protect the environment, too.  Before the end of the year, you will need to bring your own BAG to the grocery store if you live in San Franciso.  Bay dwellers will soon have to find an alternative to the standard plastic bag to get thier groceries home.  This city is serious about going green!  There are so many cool alternatives to plastic bags and I have listed a few websites below where you can find some groovy carry-alls for your cart.  Who says you have to live in San Francisco to BYOB?  Now is the time to start your own little plastic bag ban in your household.  I have a habit of storing some bags in the car and take them to the grocery store.  At Whole Foods and my local grocery store, we get 5 to 10 cents back per bag we re-use.  What a bargain!

www.envirosax.com- this is a great polyester tote that rolls up into the size of your fist.  These bags are tough, waterproof and washable.

www.reusablebags.com/store/ - this site has some great information about the environment and a count of how many plastic bags are being used by the second.  That alone is enough to get you to invest in a bag by ECOBAGS, Basura Bags, Acme Bags or Gecko Traders.  They also have environmentally friendly water bottles like SIGG and Klean Kanteen.

www.envirosax.com - great selection of colorful bags and one bag that has 5 bags stashed inside ready for your grocery pick-up.  You will never have to worry about leaving your bags at home again since this handy pouch will fit right in your glove compartment!

Happy shopping and go green!
