Hopefully you know that getting some Omega-3's in your diet is very important.  Omega-3 fatty acid's help us to keep our arteries clear, protect against heart disease and keep our blood sugar in check.

One of the best sources of Omega-3 is salmon.  Unfortunately, many people turn their nose up at salmon because of the way it smells or tastes.  I completely understand because I definitely have days where salmon sounds great and other days where it would be the last thing I want to eat.  In addition, many people are concerned over the amount of Mercury or PCBs in fish, especially farmed fish.

Praise the fish lords, because a solution is slowly becoming available.  There is a fish called Kona Kampachi which has twice the amount of Omega-3 fatty acids as Atlantic salmon with virtually undetected levels of mercury.  The fish is mild tasting and is raised on farms along the Kona coast.  The fish is also called Hawaiian yellowtail.  Select sushi lovers may have already tried this fish sashimi style at L.A.'s Sona and Mix in Las Vegas according to Health magazine.  Be on the lookout for this great Omega-3 alternative coming to a location near you!

If fish still turns up your nose, look for Omega-3 plant sources like flax seeds, walnuts and pumpkin seeds or Omega-3 enriched yogurt or eggs.
