I always love a good kitchen gadget.  My mom even indulges my gadget fix every christmas by giving me her favorite gizmo that slices, chops and peels in clever new ways.  I have been on the hunt to give my readers some fun new ideas and here is what I found:

For the leftover queen:  check out this cool digital day timer that indicates how many days a food item has been in the refrigerator.  Forget having to worry about bacteria or food going "bad" with this device.  Just stick the DaysAgo monitor (suction cup or magnet form) on the lid of any jar or container that has been opened and watch the days tick away.  The website has super easy instructions to follow and a fantastic guide from the US Food & Drug Administration regarding recommendations for how long to keep everything from cookie dough to baby food.

For miss messy:  how many times have you been in the car with a cup of coffee and spilled all over yourself?  How many more times have you reached to the glove compartment to find out that the last knapkin is, of course, gone.  Never fear, the Pill Towel is here!  These things are amazing.  They fit right in your purse and are plastic-encased.  All you need to do is pop out the nickel-size disk and it will expand into a full-size paper towel by adding a few drops of water.  Once you get to the site, click the "On-The-Go" section on the left.  $12 will get you 16 paper pills.

For the sugar-holic:  looking for ways to cut back on your sugar consumption?  Most Americans could stand to dramatically cut their daily sugar dose.  The Sugar Please Automatic Sugar Dispenser has one solution to help you cut back.  Simply press the button on the top of the dispensing device and it will serve up a 1/2 tastpoon of sugar which is the equivalent to most sugar packets.  Who needs a sugar spoon anymore?  Note to self: no need to smuggle those sugar packets from the restaurant into your purse anymore.  www.wrapables.com
