Well if Oprah's latest book club selection, A New Earth: Awakening To Your Life's Purpose by Eckhart Tolle, has not given you enough material to do some soul searching, maybe you can partake in a different kind of sole searching.

A while ago I reported on an organization called Soles4souls that takes your gently used/old tennis shoes and donates them to victims of the 2004 Southeast Asian Tsunami and Hurricane Katrina. So far they have donated over 3 million pairs! Thanks to Yoga Journal, I have some new organizations that you can also consider donating to when Spring cleaning.

Boulder Running
Donate your nearly new athletic shoes or equipment to this site and they will donate to a Third-World country.

Samaritan's Feet
The goal of this company is to get 10 million pairs of shoes to 10 million impoverished people over the next 10 years!

The Shoe Bank
The Shoes Bank provides shoes for children both here and abroad with desperately needed shoes.

Sole Responsibility
Runners in Ottawa, Canada donate their gently used shoes to underprivileged individuals overseas.

Donate your worn-out Crocs to this site and they will be recycled into new pairs and donated to countries like Malawi, El Salvador and the Dominican Republic.!
