BENDING OVER BACKWARDS AND TWISTING AROUND |

During this 3-hour workshop we will explore and deepen the back
extensions and spinal twists that pilates offers. A healthy spine is
flexible and moves freely in all directions. By learning how to gradually
open the body, using principles from both pilates and yoga, you will be
able to safely introduce backbends to your beginner students as well as
challenge your most advanced all while keeping the flow of your class!
Spinal twists are a wonderful neutralizer to backbends. Some yoga props
will be incorporated. Mat work will be emphasized, but we will also look
at backbends and twists on the Reformer and Barrels.
Pre-requisite: Open to everyone. Please bring a strap and a block if you own one. Date: |
