Mat Certification
Beginner Mat
The beginner mat certification is the point of entry and foundation of all our programs. Every other program builds upon the information learned during this course. The emphasis of the weekend is on the art of teaching. Learn to apply the principles of Joseph Pilates to further enhance the clients’ fitness and wellness.
- Learn to teach the 18 beginner level mat exercises
- Introduction to Power Pilates Teaching Tools "the art of teaching."
- Learn Power Pilates teaching philosophy, formula, and style
- Review anatomy from a pilates perspective
- Learn to teach a 60-minute beginner level Mat class (including modifications and variations for advancement).
- Strengthen communication skills necessary to inspire clients and teach Pilates effectively.
PREREQUISITE
- Attend a minimum of 10-15 classically taught mat classes prior to the certification weekend.
- Read chapters 1-3 & 6 of Anatomy of Movement by Blandine Calais-German.
MATERIAL
- Beginner Mat manual (receive on day one of program)
- Take-home exam
- Evaluation (all weekend long)
- Book - Anatomy of Movement by Blandine Calais-Germain (purchase at Store)
- Certificate of completion (upon passing)

Intermediate Mat
Now that you have successfully completed the Beginner Mat certification, it is time to delve into the next layer of teacher training. Our students claim that "everything starts to click" during the Intermediate Mat weekend. Once you complete this weekend, you will have the ability to work with people of all ages and challenge clients at all fitness levels at the same time.
- Learn how to teach the 12 intermediate level mat exercises and incorporate them into the beginner level sequence.
- Further develop your teaching skills and confidence as a teacher
- Learn the Intermediate Mat teaching formula
- Review anatomy from a pilates perspective
- Learn how to teach an intermediate level 60-minute Mat class (including modifications and variations for advancement).
- Strengthen communication skills necessary to inspire clients and teach pilates effectively.

Advanced Mat
MASTER THE ART OF PILATES
All essential components of the Power Pilates teaching tools and formula will be enriched and advanced exercises will be mastered. Learn how to incorporate the advanced exercises safely and effectively into your client's repertoire during this weekend.
