Advanced Mat Certification
The seeds of Power Pilates Masters Program are being set in the form of our Advanced Mat certification being debuted August 1 and 2 in NYC and presented by Co-Owner/Co-Program Developer, Susan Moran-Perich. All essential components of the Power Pilates teaching tools and formula will be enriched as well as the mastery of the advanced exercises. As always, the exercises are the major component of our formula, but it is the mastery of the teaching formula that will deepen this work. Come and experience the Advanced Mat program and learn how to incorporate it safely and effectively into your client’s repertoire. This course is a pre-requisite to our Master's program which will launch in Dallas March 2009.
Pre-requisite: Power Pilates Intermediate Mat Certification.

Pilates Bootcamp
Come to this dynamic and high energy workout with 2 Senior Power Pilates Instructors. How does it work? Start on the Reformer with 5-7 “friends” and 1 Instructor, next you will switch to the other Instructor for the Mat and Tower portion, finally, all join together for an ‘ending.’ Come prepared to sweat, and have fun! It is an intermediate to advanced level workout

Advanced Tower
Let’s hang like a Monkey. Let’s build Towers. Let’s drive like mad truckers! Come to this workshop and devise a Tower class/session using intermediate and advanced material that is both fun and inventive.

Art of Tactile Cueing
This workshop will review intermediate through advanced mat & reformer exercises, teaching you how to safely and clearly assist your clients through the use of both manual or tactile cueing and physical spotting techniques. Emphasis on developing your ‘eye’ and knowing where and what to cue first. Kathy has years of experience with ’hands on’ teaching. Learn through practice the precise ‘hands on’ to use for each exercise in order to deepen your teaching skills.

Basics of Nutrition
Are you bombarded with too many choices and conflicting messages? Three meals versus six meals. No carbs versus low carbs. No fat/low calorie versus whole foods. The question of what to eat has become incredibly complicated for most people. The basic principles of good diets are so simple that they can be summarized in just ten words. Learn what those ten words are!!

Every Pilates Studio needs a business plan. We’ll review the musts of budgeting and tracking accounts to ensure your business grows and prospers. Learn about key metrics and what they can tell you about your business and use them to keep your business vital.

Classical Pilates and the Spine
This workshop teaches the classical pilates philosophy regarding the significance of spinal health and how to achieve it. We will explore specific weaknesses of the musculoskeletal system along with the benefits that classical pilates provides on treating these weaknesses. We will also discuss the impact that exercise modifications have on the spine and pelvis within the classical system. You will be provided with literature and hands-on experience.

Extreme Mat Makeover

This workshop is for all instructors who need a concise review of both beginner and intermediate teaching formula and technique. The goal of this workshop is to continue refining your set-up, action, precision, flow, voice and cues.

Honoring the Integrity of Classical Pilates
The Mission of Power Pilates is to honor the integrity of Joseph Pilates Method. Through our program development, we train our instructors to pass on the legacy of the original work as it was handed down by the first generation teachers. Join us for an inspiring workshop with Senior Director/Program Developer, Bob Liekens, as he leads a discussion on the responsibility of upholding the respected standard of the classical work. Discover why teaching with the original intent and principles of Joseph Pilates lives can be changed. Listen to Bob speak about the history, tell stories, and of course you can ask questions. Individual Needs: How to ‘C’ Effectively
Learn how to choose an effective C module to individualize and maximize your clients’ sessions. We will explore ways to properly assess when clients need specific work on the four S’s — Strength, Stretch, Stamina and Stability — and which apparatus and exercises can best accommodate each.

Physical Therapy Approach to Chronic Lower Back Conditions
You will explore the degenerative effects of Spondylolisthesis and Spinal Stenosis and the necessary modifications associated. Learn from Marilyn Moffat, a world renowned P.T., who understands the need and advantage to an active lifestyle and how to deal with these chronic conditions.

Physical Therapy Approach to the Effects of Arthritic Changes of the Spine including Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis

Pilates Bootcamp
More than the ordinary challenge! Which props work best for your clientele? Learn how to challenge the classical mat order using the physioball, weights, and therabands to deepen the powerhouse connection. You will also learn multiple ways to format this material for effective use (Mat class & apparatus sessions). Use this workshop to create a fun, safe and vigorous workout.

Pilates for Golf – The Classical Way
Pilates for golf doesn’t really exist, it’s just Pilates. Learn to deepen and intensify your client’s workout with Rhythm, Reps and Breath to enhance the connection they require for their game! Your client’s golf game will improve by connecting them with their core first and then work from there on their individual needs. The deeper their connection, the more complete is the rotation of their spine.

Pilates for Pregnancy
Are you intimidated by working with pregnant clients? Are you familiar with the ‘do’s’ and ‘don’ts’ of challenging Moms-to-be with a safe and effective workout? Do you know how to address the needs of your clients upon returning to Pilates after giving birth? Boost your skill set and confidence by learning how to adapt your pregnant client’s workout to accommodate her throughout her pregnancy, as well as how to safely rebuild her workout post-natally.

Pilates for Seniors
This workshop is geared to help you teach elderly clientele how to utilize the classical pilates method effectively. As Joseph used to say, “You are only as old as your spine is flexible.” We will discuss some common injuries, weaknesses, and limitations of our older clientele, and learn how to challenge and progress them while playing it safe and still having fun.

Progressions on the Barrels
Joseph Pilates created a beautiful progression on an often-overlooked piece of equipment: The Barrel. Wipe the dust off your Barrels and remember what a great piece of equipment they can be! The Barrel allows access to gradually open two very restricted areas of our body: the hips and shoulders. We will work through this progression from the Small Barrel up to the Ladder Barrel in such a way that it becomes easier to incorporate the Barrels into almost every workout.

Progressions on the Wunda Chair
Come to this workshop and uncover the Magic of the Wunda Chair. Learn some new and exciting progressions on the Wunda Chair utilizing the classical Chair exerciess. These progressions will surely challenge your exsisting INT/ADV clientele on a much deeper level. Be prepared to experience the classical Wunda Chair exercises in challengeing progressions, coupled with complex cues Be prepared to move.

Real Men Do Pilates
This workshop will help instructors work more effectively with a growing client base: male clients. Common patterns of muscular imbalance and weakness among men will be addressed — as well as specific ways to improve them. You will also learn techniques that will assist men in integrating key concepts of strength, stability, stretch and stamina into a well-balanced and challenging workout.

Strategies for Teaching Semi-Private Sessions
Develop a method to the madness! Teaching semi-privates sessions can be fun and profitable, but you just need a game plan. Take this workshop and help devise a strategy or strategies that will help you feel at ease, organized and in control when teaching a semi-private session, all the while offering each individual client a sufficient workout.

Super Advanced Cadillac
As with the Reformer, we know, practice and teach on a regular basis by now a very familiar vocabulary. Was that everything Uncle Joe ever created for the Cadillac? No, there is more. We will explore the “next steps” for your intermediate to advanced level clientele and review what is known as the super-advanced level exercises on the Cadillac!
