Super Advanced Mat Class:
Are you ready for the ultimate Power Pilates Mat challenge? Join Power Pilates’ Bob Liekens for a Super-Advanced Mat class. Need we say more?
Pre-requisite: Open to instructors and Intermediate/Advanced level clients.

Bootcamp Workout:
This workout is geared to get you moving! During this workout you will be pushed to your Pilates “edge” by not 1, but 2 pilates instructors. You will begin with one instructor on the reformer or mat/tower for half the session, then switch, and finally join together for a collective ending. Ideal for Instructors and Clients (clients must be at an intermediate/advanced level) Come ready to work it out!
Prerequisite: Open to Instructors and Intermediate/Advanced level clients.

Spice Up Your Mat Class (workout):
Come add some “spice” to your mat workout... this class will follow and Intermediate/Advanced level adding in Magic Circle and Hand Weights. Add some resistance and challenge your Powerhouse to the “edge”.
Pre-requisite: Open to Instructors and Intermediate/Advanced level clients.

Magic Circle Mat Class:
Come one, come all — Join us for a Power Pilates open level Magic Circle Mat lass. Come ready to move,”hug” the Magic Circle, and have fun. You’ll feel this one.

Wunda Chair I: (Technique/What)
During this 2 hour workshop you will learn/review the Technique (Setup/Action/Precision) of all Intermediate/Advanced Wunda Chair Exercises in a Lecture Format. It is recommended to take Wunda Chair II as a follow up for Cueing /practice of all exercises.
Pre-requisite: Open to instructors and Intermediate/Advanced level clients.

Super-Advanced Reformer I: (Technique/What)
During this 2 hour workshop you will learn/review the Technique (Setup/Action/Precision) of all Super Advanced Reformer Exercises in a Lecture Format. It is recommended to take Super Advanced Reformer II as a follow up for Cueing/practice of all exercises.
Pre-requisite: Open to instructors and Intermediate/Advanced level clients.

Spice Up Your Mat Class (Magic Circle and Weights):
This Workshop will follow Intermediate/Advanced level Mat exercises while adding in Magic Circle and Hand Weights. Learn how to use these props within the traditional mat exercises to add a different flavor. Your clients will enjoy these additions as it will provide more of a challenge to exercises they have been doing for a while. “Spice it Up”!
Pre-requisite: Open to instructors and Intermediate/Advanced level clients.

Barrel I: (Technique/What)
During this 2 hour workshop you will learn/review the Technique (Setup/Action/Precision) of all Intermediate/Advanced Barrel Exercises in a Lecture Format. It is recommended to take Barrel II as a follow up for Cueing/practice of all exercises.

Pilates for Seniors:
This workshop is geared to help you teach elderly clientele how to utilize the Classical Pilates method effectively. As Joseph used to say, "You are only as old as your spine is flexible." We will discuss some common injuries, weaknesses, and limitations of our older clientele, and learn how to challenge and progress them while playing it safe and still having fun.
Pre-requisite: Open to all Instructors

Reformer on the Mat:
Create a new challenge for your more advanced clientele and classes! This workshop will review the Reformer order, exercise details and their application to the Mat. No springs, no straps, just you and gravity. The breakdown of the Setup/Action/Precision of the exercises helps achieve greater clarity and will add to depth to your cueing. Be prepared to move and sweat!
Pre-requisite: Open to instructors and Intermediate/Advanced level clients.

Barrel II: (Cue/Why)
During this 2 hour workshop you will apply cues to all Intermediate/Advanced Barrel Exercises. You will explore Intermediate Powerhouse cues through Advanced Powerhouse (Full Powerhouse) Come prepared to move, explore and play.

Strategies for Teaching Semi-Private Sessions:
Develop a method to the madness! Teaching semi-privates sessions can be fun and profitable, but you just need a game plan. Take this workshop and help devise a strategy or strategies that will help you feel at ease, organized and in control when teaching a semi-private session, all the while offering each individual client a sufficient workout.

1:30pm-3:30pm Workshops
Super Advanced Cadillac: In this workshop you will learn or review the exercises you rarely see or get to teach. Be prepared for some fun and dynamic material to come your way today!
Pre-requisite: Open to Instructors and Advanced level clients.

Art of Touch/Cueing:
During this 2 hours workshop you will explore cueing of the “Full Powerhouse” through verbal and touch cues. The movement is just the beginning, the work happens when you go “vertical” with your teaching and deepen the clients experience of the “Full Powerhouse”. Come prepared to “see” the traditional exercises with x-ray vision.
Pre-requisite: Open to instructors and Intermediate/Advanced level clients.

Teachers Forum:
This forum is for all teachers who have questions about anything that has to do with teaching clients from cueing, technique or special cases. Come with questions or simply sit back listen and learn.

During good and bad economic times, the goal as a studio owner, teacher and professional is to service our clients well, build trust and retain their business. With over twenty years experience, one of the secrets has always been to make sure the client understands and feels the benefits and effects of Pilates. Learn what to say and how to describe what is happening in their bodies. Present a simple philosophy and a simple language along with a clear and articulate message. This is one of the secrets to a thriving business!

Individual Needs: How to ‘C’ Effectively:
Learn how to choose an effective”C “module to individualize and maximize your clients’ sessions. We will explore ways to properly assess when clients need specific work on the four S’s – Strength, Stretch, Stamina and Stability – and which apparatus and exercises can best accommodate each.

Ladder Barrel:
During this 2 hours workshop you will learn/review the Intermediate/Advanced level Barrel Exercises. Come prepared to look at the Set up/Action/Precision as well as cues for all exercises, to help deepen the experience for your clients workouts.
Pre-requisite: Open to instructors and Intermediate/Advanced level clients.

Advanced Tower:
Let’s hang like a Monkey. Let’s build Towers. Let’s drive like mad truckers! Come to this workshop and devise a Tower class/session using Intermediate and Advanced material that is both traditonal and fun! You will not only review/learn the exercises but also apply cues to deepen the movement, as well as learn/review the specific teaching format best suited for this class.
Pre-requisite: Open to instructors and Intermediate/Advanced level clients.

"Live Beautifully" 7 Keys to Feeling Your Best and Being Your Best:
Pay attention to these 7 simple keys and you will improve your energy levels, lose weight and create greater mental and physical well-being. You will slow down the aging process and at times reverse it!! Pilates on the Ball: Experience the ball like never before! Leave with ideas and inspiration to challenge your clients. Be prepared personally for a challenging class as we discover new ways to utilize the ball and with smooth transitions.
Pre-requisite: Open to instructors and Intermediate/Advanced level clients.

‘Heart and Soul’:
Joseph Pilates once said that the exercises that make up the Beginner System are the ‘heart and soul’ of the method. By this he meant that the root of every Pilates exercise, no matter how advanced, can be found within Beginner exercises. During this 2 workshop, we will examine the exercises of the Beginner System in-depth and illustrate why they are the foundation of the Method.

6pm-7pm Workouts
Open Mat Class: Come one, come all — Join us for a Power Pilates open level Mat class. Come ready to move, have fun and be inspired. Experience the “Power Pilates flow.”

Advanced Tower Class:
This class combines, in the first half of the class; the Advanced Mat work with or without the equipment of the Wall unit. The second part we will "play" with more exercises on the Wall unit. Come prepared to workout!

Pilates on the Ball Class:
During this class you will find your “Pilates edge”. By utilizing the Ball during the traditional Pilates Mat exercises the level of challenge will increase. The added resistance or balancing on the ball will certainly add a whole new sensation to the traditional mat exercises. Come “roll with us”! Pre-requisite: Open to instructors and Intermediate/Advanced level clients.



Alicia Zabrocki
Alicia is originally from Indianapolis, Indiana. She and her husband, Doug, own Gourmet Pilates, Inc. She is Senior level Power Pilates Teacher Trainer teaching certifications in Chicago and traveling nationally and internationally. She was the co-owner and director of The Pilates Center of the Southwest, with her husband in Scottsdale, Arizona from 2002-2007. Her background includes 10 years of competitive gymnastics and an accomplished professional modern dance career. She received her B.F.A in Dance from the University of Illinois.
She was classically trained and certified in Pilates by Romana Kryzanowska in 1997. Alicia became a leader and teacher early on in her pilates career.
Alicia has trained several high-profile personalities and athletes, including, Sarah Ferguson ‘Duchess of York’, John Olerud of the New York Yankees, Jim Jackson Phoenix Suns, and Betsy King of the Women’s Professional Golf association. Alicia is proud to be a part of the Power Pilates Chicago team and pilates community of Chicago.

Bob Liekens
Bob Liekens, originally from Belgium, traveled to New York City in 1983 to further explore his dance career. That same year, he started his pilates training at The Pilates Studio. Fascinated by the Graham technique, he initially pursued studies at the Graham Center for Contemporary Dance. In 1991, he became one of the first certified teachers in the technique. Subsequently, he taught for two years at the school. In 1986 Romana Kryzanowska invited him to teach the pilates method. Starting in 1993, he has been instrumental in building her teacher-trainer certification program. He co-created the training manual and originated the current exam system. For several years now, Bob has been invited, both nationally and internationally, to conduct teacher-training seminars, workshops, and continuing education programs. In September, 2000 he became a director at Power Pilates and is an integral part of the Power Pilates Teacher Training Certification Programs. Bob also practices yoga and in 1999 became a certified yoga teacher.

Carrie Campbell
Formerly a professional ballet dancer, Carrie Campbell was first introduced to pilates as part of physical therapy to help her rehabilitate a chronic injury. She has been practicing the pilates method since 1992, and received her certification through Power Pilates NYC in 1999. Since then, Carrie has been teaching Pilates full time in NYC. In 2001, Carrie graduated Magna Cum Laude from Hunter College with a BA in psychology and biology. She joined the Power Pilates teacher training team in the fall of 2003, in order to refine her own teaching and share her knowledge with others.

Davidson Reid
Davidson Reid has been studying Pilates for seventeen years as part of his dance training in Atlanta, New York, Europe and South Africa. After moving to New York to pursue a career in classical ballet, he began teaching Pilates at the Vailencourt Studio. Highlights of his career as a professional dancer include touring Europe with "West Side Story", spending a year in South Africa performing "A Chorus Line", and dancing with the Joffrey Ballet. In 1999, Davidson was certified in Power Pilates and worked with Phoebe Higgins at the Power Pilates center on East 57TH Street, NYC for two years. Davidson has worked with every range of physical ability, from competitive tri-athletes to those recovering from MS, muscular dystrophy, stroke, heart attack and fibromyalgia. Davidson's deep belief in the Power Pilates system comes from seeing breakthrough results from his own diverse clientele. Davidson currently runs the Power Pilates affiliate training center in Atlanta, Georgia at Studio Lotus.

Dr Howard Sichel
Dr. Howard Sichel, a spearhead in the current pilates renaissance, realized the immense benefits of the pilates exercise method and, more than ten years ago, integrated a pilates studio into his successful chiropractic business. He is currently founder and Chairman of Power Pilates, a classical pilates training program with two studios in New York and one studio in Florida. Since receiving his Doctor of Chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College in 1980, he has specialized in the development and implementation of classical pilates exercise programs for clients and is the Co-Director of the Power Pilates certification programs. He also specializes in applied kinesiology and non-force work in treatment of clients and has brought this protocol into the pilates certification programs.
Dr. Sichel's knowledge and experience have led to new techniques in the treatment and rehabilitation of common body injuries. He has lectured and authored numerous articles on health and the importance of core strength in overall fitness and health.

Ellen Nalaboff
Ellen Nalaboff is a certified Health Counselor and Life Coach. Ellen received her training at the Institute for Integrated Nutrition in New York. She received her degree for Holistic Nutrition and Life Coaching at the Chek Institute in San Diego, CA. Ellen is also a certified Power Pilates Instructor and spin instructor and owns a studio in Plainview, New York.

Erin King
Erin King was born in San Francisco, California. Upon coming to New York City in 1990 to begin her dance career, she discovered pilates and was hooked at once. In 1992, Erin began teaching and was certified through Power Pilates in 1999 as an instructor and in 2006 as a Power Pilates Teacher Trainer. Currently, Erin dances professionally with Ballet for Young Audiences and Catskill Ballet Theatre, where she also teaches ballet to young aspiring dancers. Erin claims that Power Pilates has changed her life. Not only has it kept her injury free (not an easy task as a dancer), but she also feels it has made her a better person

Juan Estrada
Juan Estrada received his first classical Pilates certification under the direction of Angela Clifford (Body Balance Chicago) in October, 2000. Juan graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a B.A. in Dance with concentrations in Choreography and Performance in June, 1999. Professionally, Juan has performed with the Chicago Civic Ballet, the Chicago Lyric Opera, the Northwest Ballet Association, Mordine and Company Dance Theatre, Luna Negra Dance Theatre, and for six seasons directed his own dance company, Estradanza, until the company folded upon his move to NYC in 2006. Juan joined the Power Pilates Chicago team under the direction of Liv Berger and Linda Spriggs in 2005. Now as part of the Power Pilates NYC team, Juan has participated in various Power Pilates online classes both in English and Spanish.

Lesly Levy
Lesly Levy's love for movement began early on in her childhood while practicing with her elementary school gymnastics team in Chicago. After college, Lesly spent a short time in the advertising world only to discover that her true passion was fitness. As a professional instructor within the fitness field for over fourteen years (both as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor specializing in perinatal fitness, yoga, and body sculpting), Lesly brings her vast knowledge of fitness, injuries and injury prevention to her pilates teaching. In July, 2003, she opened Mindful Moves Pilates Center.
Lesly received her first of three pilates certifications in April, 2000 from the Physicalmind Institute of New York. Not long after, Lesly began her studies with Bob Liekens and the Power Pilates team and received her Power Pilates certification in July, 2003. Lesly was also one of the first to acquire the Pilates Method Alliance (PMA) Certification (Sept., 2005), which is why she has the honor of calling herself "PMA Gold Certified." Today, Lesly teaches continuing education courses for Power Pilates, is a Teacher Trainer for Power Pilates, instructs her long standing clientele, and studies with Bob Liekens as well as with Irene Dowd, renowned neuromuscular educator located in NYC.
Lesly's other qualifications and specialties include, ACE Certified Personal Trainer (1992), ACE Certified Group Fitness Instructor (1993), Johnny G Spinning Certified, Reebok Cycling Certified, and Yogafit Certified. ACE Specialties of Recognition include, Perinatal Fitness, Youth Fitness, Mind/Body Integration (Yoga), and Flexibility Training (PNF Stretching). Lesly is an avid skier, wife and mother of two.

Susan Moran-Perich
Susan Moran-Perich brings a varied background of professional dance, massage therapy and Pilates training to her work. During her ten years with Doug Elkins Dancers, she won the coveted Bessie Award. Susan's intense involvement in the dance community allows her to bring a knowledge and understanding of stress-related injuries to Power PilatesTM, which enables her to devise the proper Pilates therapy for their treatment. She has been the Director and co-owner of Power Pilates since 1995, overseeing the development of the Power Pilates Teacher Training Certification Programs. Susan has taught internationally, setting up Pilates programs at some of the finest spas around the world. She brings to her Pilates work clarity and understanding of how to teach, which is unprecedented in the fitness world. She received her Pilates certification in 1988 from Romana Kryzanowska.
