BRIDGE The Gap

Power Pilates welcomes certified Pilates instructors to attend our Comprehensive or 12-Day Intensive program as a BRIDGE participant. This is a great way for certified instructors to learn and re-visit the principles and exercises of the classical system. This option is available in all cities where the program is offered. Your prior certification must include: beginner, intermediate and advanced level training on the Mat, Reformer, Chairs, Cadillac, and Barrels.

As a BRIDGE participant, you are required to attend the 4-weekend intensives of the Comprehensive program OR the 12-Day Intensive program. You will receive the training manual and be required to participate in the program. You will not be required to complete any Apprentice hours (unless notified) or attend weekly meetings. Within one month of completing the program you will be required to take your final test-out in New York City.

Pre-Requisites

  • Pilates certification including beginner, intermediate and advanced level training on Mat, Reformer, Chairs, Cadillac, and Barrels.
  • Audition for the program at the studio where you are attending the program. You can also submit a video audition.
  • The audition tape should be approximately 20-30 minutes in length. It must include the following elements:
    1. Perform the intermediate Mat and Reformer exercises (2-3 reps of each).
    2. Perform 2 exercises on each: Cadillac, High Chair, Wunda Chair, and Ladder Barrel. Explain why you chose the exercises you did.
    3. Perform the movement with minimal prompting.
  • Once you have completed the audition it may be determined that even though you are being accepted as a Bridge candidate, you will need to complete a minimal amount of Apprentice hours. The exact amount of hours will depend upon the evaluation from your audition. There is an additional fee for the Apprentice hours:
    50 Apprentice hours $125.00
    100 Apprentice hours $250.00
    200 Apprentice hours $350.00
    300 Apprentice hours $450.00
  • Power Pilates Beginner Mat certification is required for those attending the Bridge program. The Beginner Mat certificaiton will prepare you for the program by introducing you to Power Pilates philosophy, language and teaching style. This course will cost $350.00 ($100 discount).
  • If you do not have prior anatomy background, you are required to attend Power Pilates Basics of Anatomy course or an anatomy course with another organization. Submit proof of completion with application. Click here for course dates.

It is necessary to complete these CECs for your highest level certification only (i.e. credits going towards Comprehensive certification will also cover Beginner and/or Intermediate Mat certification). If you do not complete these required credits, your certification will not be renewed. If you are using another organization's Continuing Education Credits as fulfillment, you must receive prior approval from Power Pilates. Please see our website or call 212.627.5852 for our current Continuing Education Calendar.
