Elanor is a highly experienced mindfulness and yoga teacher from Manchester, UK. She is a scientist by background, having originally studied Natural Sciences at Cambridge University, and was drawn to mindfulness around 15 years ago based on its clinical evidence for reducing stress, anxiety and depression, and its beneficial effects in autoimmune disorders and insomnia. She has trained with the UK’s Mindfulness Association to teach a number of evidence-based mindfulness courses, including the 8 week Mindfulness Based Living Course (MBLC), Compassion Based Living Course (CBLC), and the Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy for people with cancer (MBCT-ca), as well as with the Mindfulness in Schools Project. She is a certified teacher with BAMBA – the British Association of Mindfulness Based Approaches – the ‘gold standard’ accreditation for mindfulness teachers in the UK. She has practiced yoga for over two decades and is a 200hour qualified yoga teacher with the Yoga Alliance, teaching restorative, slow flow, and flow styles of hatha vinyasa yoga, and has undertaken further specialist yoga training with the Yoga in Healthcare Alliance to teach the evidence-based “Yoga4Health” program. Elanor is also a successful businesswoman and runs her own healthcare consulting company, and has a Masters in Business Administration. She volunteers as a crisis counsellor in her spare time.
