Kira is a NYS Licensed Massage Therapist and Classical Pilates Teacher certified through Power Pilates and The New York Pilates Studio. While currently in private practice, she began her teaching career in 2002 at boutique studios & luxury fitness clubs in Los Angeles and NYC. She was also the Resident Pilates Teacher & Therapeutic Massage Specialist at COMO Parrot Cay, Turks & Caicos for 2.5yrs. Kira has multiple classes on Pilates Anytime and created a series of 22min Pilates videos for Healthline’s initiative, Fit It In. She is also the creator of the annual #contrologyfreakchallenge on Instagram designed to celebrate Joe’s birthday and the genius of his Method. Her own love of the Method was nurtured during her 20yr career as a professional dancer and aerial artist; which included touring with Puff Daddy, Missy Elliot, and Gloria Estefan and performing in Off-Broadway shows like De La Guarda: Villa-Villa & Fuerza Bruta: Look Up. She credits Classical Pilates with her ability to sustain such a physically demanding career into her early 40s. Kira’s collective experiences in the performing, teaching, & healing arts has solidified her belief that, how you move and feel in your body, translates into how you move and feel in life. Her motivation is to help people feel so present, empowered, and resilient in their physical bodies that they can embrace life with that same strength, flexibility, and authenticity.
