The Comprehensive Intensive I program focuses on mastering beginner and intermediate exercises on all apparatus including the Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, Barrels, Ped-o-Pull and Magic Circle. It is designed for individuals who have already completed Core Mat I & II and have a basic understanding of anatomy. Over three months, participants engage in 36 hours of intensive lecture, a two-month self-study period, and hands-on teaching practice to develop essential teaching skills, including cueing and safety protocols, to build confidence in leading individual sessions.

Power Pilates Core Mat 1 and Core Mat 2 are required to enter this course. Graduates of the Comprehensive Intensive I training are able to teach private classical pilates sessions to clients of all ages and fitness levels.

Comprehensive Program - Intensive 1
Pre-requisites: Power Pilates Core Mat I & II Training programs
25 semi private or private Pilates apparatus sessions recommended, ideally with a classical trained instructor
Have a basic knowledge of anatomy as it pertains to movement.

YOUR TEACHER TRAINER

Pilates TeacherCheryl Turnquist

Cheryl Turnquist is the owner of the Providence Pilates Center in Providence, RI. She has been teaching Pilates since 1999 and was first trained by the Physicalmind Method of Pilates. She then began studying the Power Pilates method and earned her Bridge certificate in 2006. Cheryl became a Teacher Trainer for Power Pilates in 2012 and is also Pilates Method Alliance (PMA) certified.

Through the years, Cheryl has attended numerous conferences, continuing education classes and sessions to further her pilates expertise. Along with her Pilates work, she was a group fitness director for a nationally recognized fitness chain from 1998 - 2005. She has certifications with AFAA group fitness, spinning, TRX suspension systems, Yogafit and more. Ms. Turnquist has a BA from Providence College, an MSW from Boston College, and holds licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) from the state of RI. She has practiced as a therapist in a public school system and for several non-profit local community mental health centers at various times throughout her career. When she is not teaching at her studio, she most enjoys spending time at home with her family, reading, and playing the piano.

Student Cancellations and Transfers: We understand that sometimes plans change. Refunds are not available for any Power Pilates programs. However, you can transfer to another program or hold a credit on file to use in the future if you are unable to attend your registered program and notify us before the first day of classes. An additional $150 change fee applies to all program changes, transfers, and cancellations, due when the new program is chosen.

Postponements by Power Pilates: Power Pilates reserves the right to postpone or reschedule any program or course at any time in the event of unforeseen circumstances such as war, riots, fire, flood, snowstorm, hurricane, typhoon, earthquake, lightning, explosion, financial limitations, strikes, lockouts, sickness, and acts of state or governmental action prohibiting or impeding Power Pilates from performing its respective obligations. Refunds are not available for any Power Pilates programs. Students will be notified and have the option of attending the alternate date, holding a credit on file, or enrolling in the same level of the Online Academy.
