Master the Art of Assessment & Exercise Application This 2.5-hour workshop transforms how Pilates instructors evaluate and work with clients. Move beyond generic programming by learning to assess static posture and functional movement patterns, then strategically apply your Pilates knowledge for optimal client results. Discover how to identify the "why" behind movement limitations and break down exercises to match your client's specific needs. Through hands-on practice, you'll develop the clinical eye to see compensations, understand their root causes, and select the most effective Pilates exercises for correction.

Learn how to integrate these useful props into your mat class or create a Pilates on the Ball class. See how the use of various ball props can literally help place the beginner/intermediate student's center of gravity in their core, while challenging the advanced student with additional resources.

This workshop will be taught in two parts. First, we will take a look at the classical exercises and we will practice touch which is "hands on"; how energy is transferred when touching someone, and why present time consciousness is key. Second, we will explore spotting which is "eyes on", where and how to place yourself in the room and in relation to the client when utilizing touch. Then, we will put it all together and discover how oppositional touch, coupled with appropriate placement in the room, will deepen your skills as a teacher.

Group classes require a different approach than private and semi-private sessions. In this workshop, we'll discuss the adaptations needed to teach fun & effective group classes on the Tower and Reformer. Learn how to cue and progress students appropriately for a fun, challenging, and safe workout.

In this workshop, we will learn how to meet the unique needs of adolescent clients. This session will explore how to utilize Pilates principles and exercises to support the physical and emotional development of teens, with a focus on posture, coordination, core strength, and body awareness. Participants will gain insight into age-appropriate cueing, motivational strategies, and modifications that respect the challenges and energy of this age group. Whether working with athletes, dancers, or teens new to movement, this workshop provides practical tools to create safe, engaging, and empowering Pilates experiences for young people.

For those who want to add an extra challenge to the Advanced Mat work. We will play with rhythm, breath, range of motion and of course add some new and exciting vocabulary to the mat workout. In Romana's words, this is work for "star pupils!" This workshop will challenge you to discover new variations of the known Mat work in your body. And we'll add a greater demand of control for both precision and flow!

In this session, we’ll explore how to sequence exercises that challenge and strengthen the entire body while maintaining flow and rhythm. You’ll learn how to incorporate a variety of exercises—from fundamental movements to more advanced progressions—while ensuring the session remains engaging and accessible for clients of all levels. Additionally, we’ll discuss how to adapt the Wunda Chair for special populations, modifications for different body types, and the best ways to manage pacing and transitions. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have the skills and confidence to create dynamic and well-rounded one-hour sessions that keep your clients challenged and inspired.

How do we know when to modify an exercise? When the purpose of the exercise is not being achieved, how can we as instructors, use our Present Time Consciousness to make decisions about what version of the exercise is best for the client? In this workshop, we will review modifications at the beginner level as well as some extra creative modifications for your beginner mat classes!

The Foam Roller is a great way to challenge your clients (especially the more intermediate and advanced clients)! The unstable surface of the roller makes even the most basic Pilates exercises challenging, calling upon the deep core muscles to stabilize the body on the moving surface of the roller. Additionally, the roller can help in learning balance, improving posture, building strength, and relieving tension.

The Spine Corrector is that often-forgotten and hardly-ever-used piece of apparatus that spends most of its days sitting on the floor under the Cadillac. This mat-based workout takes the classical Spine Corrector exercises you know and love, and adds more creative exercises borrowing from the Reformer.

The physical results of Pilates speak for themselves, but did you know that Pilates can also improve your mental health? In this workshop, we will delve into the mental benefits of Pilates and how to bring mindfulness into the Pilates practice. We'll discuss the importance of breath and how to bring focus to the breath throughout a session.
