 | Focus on Common Back Issues w/ Joyce Schaer
In this workshop we will discuss a few common back issues clients see us for. We will briefly define each back issue, talk about exercise movements that are contraindicated, and demonstrate and make suggestions for appropriate Pilates exercises that may safely strengthen the powerhouse and alleviate pain while improving the function of the body. The back issues we will include are Herniated/bulging discs, Scoliosis and undiagnosed Back Pain. |

 | Mat with Theraband w/ Atsko Fukada
Learn how to incorporate this multi-faceted and useful tool, the Theraband into a mat class; for a fun and challenging workout! This course offers many different ways to use the Theraband during a classical Intermediate/Advanced Mat class. We will go over multiple ways to use the band for each exercise: we will show you how to apply the Theraband to give support and to create awareness, we will demonstrate how to use the band as a tool to challenge by adding resistance to the mat class, and finally we will give you some tips on how to take some exercises to another level. |

 | Barrels Choreography w/ Amie Cunha
Joseph Pilates created a beautiful progression on an often-overlooked piece of equipment, the Barrel. Wipe the dust off your Barrel and remember what a great piece of equipment it can be! The Barrel allows access to gradually open two very restricted areas of our body, the hips and shoulders. We will work through this progression from the Small Barrel up to the Ladder Barrel in such a way that it becomes easier to choreograph the Barrels into almost every workout. |

As familiar as we are are with the mat, Reformer and Cadillac; we often underutilize or even forget about his smaller creations. During this workshop you will learn how to use the Foot Corrector, Toe Corrector, Magic Square, Bean Bag, Breath-a-Cizer, Pedi-Pole as well as the Jumpboard created by NASA. |
