Pregnancy: Pre- & Post Partum and Pelvic Floor Dysfunctions - Reformer

Pregnancy is a highly physiologic state. Week by week a woman's needs are changing, so it is important to be knowledgeable and confident about how to teach these clients. In this workshop, we will discuss common conditions associated with pregnancy as well as the postpartum period. This course includes a comprehensive study of pre and postnatal physiology including the musculature of the pelvic floor. You will learn safety precautions and modifications to keep your clients fit and healthy for all 9 months of pregnancy and how to get them back in shape safely postpartum. Diastisis Recti is a common condition post pregnancy and if it is not assessed early the woman will always have a protruding abdominal wall. Many traditional ab exercises can increase a diastisis so it is imperative that Pilates instructors know why to modify for this condition.
