The Comprehensive training is our most extensive program and covers beginner, intermediate and advanced level exercises utilizing the Pilates apparatus - Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, Barrels, Ped-o-Pull and Magic Circle - as well as understanding how to work with Special Case clients (i.e. obesity, pregnancy, back problem, neck, knee, shoulder, etc.). You will continue to utilize and build the teaching tools learned during the Core Mat I & Core Mat II weekends. You will sharpen your eye for subtle exercise modifications and master the ability to work with people of all ages and fitness levels at the same time.

Comprehensive Program
The Comprehensive Apparatus training covers beginner, intermediate, and advanced exercises on the major Pilates apparatus including the Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, Barrels, Ped-o-Pull and Magic Circle. During the program, Comprehensive apprentices learn how to teach safe, effective sessions to Special Case clients who have health conditions requiring modifications such as pregnancy, back problems, etc. Modifications, variations, and teaching skills are taught throughout the course.
The Comprehensive Apparatus training is an intensive, 600+ hour program that takes 6-12 months to complete, including approximately 500 hours outside of the required weekend intensives. Comprehensive apprentices must complete required hours in lecture, practice teaching, self-practice, and observation. Progress exams are completed after 100 hours (Beginner System), 300 hours (Intermediate System), and 400 hours (Advanced System), as well as a final exam (Multilevel) following completion of 600 hours.
Power Pilates Core Mat 1 and Core Mat 2 are required to enter this course. Graduates of the Comprehensive Apparatus training are able to teach private and semi private classical pilates sessions to clients of all ages and fitness levels. Pre-requisites: Power Pilates Core Mat I & II Training programs 25 semi private or private Pilates apparatus sessions recommended, ideally with a classical trained instructor Have a basic knowledge of anatomy as it pertains to movement

YOUR TEACHER TRAINER
Joyce Schaer
Joyce Schaer lives in Dallas TX and is a Teacher-Trainer for Power Pilates leading training programs both in United States and International locations. She enjoys training aspiring teachers offering mentoring and practice as they prepare to successfully complete various levels of instructor certification. She is a comprehensively certified instructor and works at Classic Pilates where she trains private clients and teaches group classes. She has worked as a guest instructor and workshop leader at studios across the country. She serves as the Mind-Body Director for the Cooper Fitness Center focusing on the management of the program and expanding the Pilates program for its members. Her goal is to instill consistency in a client’s Pilates practice leading them to feel stronger, more connected both mind and body as they walk out of their sessions and into their everyday lives. She regularly attends Pilates workshops across the country to continuously improve her practice and her teaching skills.
Joyce was born and raised in Bozeman, Montana and started at the young age of 3 learning to ski (thanks to her parents). She found her competitive spirit as a swimmer and diver and later as a marathon runner. After a running injury side-lined her Marathon racing, she found Pilates as the solution to remain fit, become stronger and find deeper mind-body connections. After many years in the corporate/finance industry Joyce transitioned to a full-time Pilates Instructor and Teacher Trainer.
Joyce graduated from Rutgers University with a BA in Political Science and earned her MBA in Finance and Marketing from Fordham University in New York City. She earned her Mat and Comprehensive Pilates Certifications from Power Pilates. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her two grown sons who live in Dallas.

Student Cancellations and Transfers: We understand that sometimes plans change. Refunds are not available for any Power Pilates programs. However, you can transfer to another program or hold a credit on file to use in the future if you are unable to attend your registered program and notify us before the first day of classes. An additional $150 change fee applies to all program changes, transfers, and cancellations, due when the new program is chosen.
Postponements by Power Pilates: Power Pilates reserves the right to postpone or reschedule any program or course at any time in the event of unforeseen circumstances such as war, riots, fire, flood, snowstorm, hurricane, typhoon, earthquake, lightning, explosion, financial limitations, strikes, lockouts, sickness, and acts of state or governmental action prohibiting or impeding Power Pilates from performing its respective obligations. Refunds are not available for any Power Pilates programs. Students will be notified and have the option of attending the alternate date, holding a credit on file, or enrolling in the same level of the Online Academy.
